Time to Pluck Up

Every spring my husband gets busy with the garden.  You can tell he really enjoys doing it, until the weather gets to hot.

We had a great crop of squash and tomatoes.  The deer got to the green beans so we only got a little bit of them until they devoured them.

What a bleasing it is to see the way the Lord provides through a garden.  And with plenty to share that which has been plucked.

Its a blessing to see the smiles on those you share your fresh vegetables with.

 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
Ecclesiastes 3:2 KJV

Lest Thou Dash

Because thou hast made the Lord , which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation; There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.

For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.

They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.
Psalms 91:9‭-‬12 KJV

Isn’t it amazing how the Lord watches over us every day.

We take trips,  go to town, or drive down the road to visit a loved one thirty minutes away and the Lord sees us home safely.  What a blessing that is.

I try to make it a habit, when I turn onto our road home,  that I thank the Lord for a safe trip.

He is worthy to be praised.

Passengers in the Storm/Daily Prompt-Passenger

A couple of months ago my husband took a business trip up to Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport.  Marlin had not flown for years, and I think he was rather excited about it all.  He was flying out of Houston to be one of the many passengers for that day.

The weather had been bad in the East Texas area of all days.  But, thank the good Lord my husband didn’t hit much rain on the way to the Houston airport. After he had arrived the weather got worse with thunderstorms all around them.

All the passengers had boarded, and they sat there, and sat there for two hours.  Then they all had to exit from the airplane to the terminal and then back onto the airplane.  I guess it’s a rule you can’t sit on the airplane waiting for more than two hours.

I was keeping track of my husbands flight and we were texting periodically. He takes everything so calmly.  A special gift God has given him.  I’m the anxious one in the family learning daily to trust God more in every situation.

So, the passengers all settled on board again and sat there and sat there for yet another two hours before taking off.  The pilot ended up having to go around the storm. And then all the flights leaving  behind them were cancelled.

The Lord knows how to watch over us. He provides a way to get around the storms when they come our way.  We are so thankful they were not caught in the storm, even though we know the Lord would take care of them even then. God is good to us every day.

The Lord protected all of the passengers, and they made their flight safely.  What a flight to remember.

The Lord is their strength, and he is the saving strength of his anointed.

Psalms 28:8 KJV

Priceless Moments

Yesterday after lunch my daughter and I was washing dishes, just enjoying the moment. She turned her music on from the new cd of Joseph Habedank, and I got the bluetooth speaker connected. There are really some great songs on his new cd and it made cleaning a breeze.

Spending time together in whatever way are priceless moments to me. Quality time spent with family and friends to look back on.

Washing dishes with my daughter makes me remember when my sister and I did the same. One would wash and one would rinse, and we would go to singing and laughing. That is one of my best memories because it was quality time spent together.

There are times when the ladies in the church get together to clean or serve. Even though we are working we are also having a good time of fellowship while we work. We always find something to laugh and carry on about.

I’m so thankful for these little moments in my life to look back on.
Thankful for my family, friends and especially for the good Lord who takes care of us, loves us, and makes all things possible.

O give thanks unto the Lord ; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people.
Psalms 105:1 KJV

Committed for Life (Daily Prompt, Committ)

Back in 1984, I committed my life unto the Lord after he saved me and changed my heart. In no way am I perfect, but I have been forgiven.
I am so thankful that He loves me, and my sins are forever forgotten.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
John 3:16 KJV

Committed unto the Lord, I give my life,
To be a servant and each day a better wife.

A mom, grandma, and a teacher too
desiring to please God, whatever I do.

I want to be a light, and with my heart share,
Desiring to help others, for I really do care.

Through His word, prayer, and songs,
To Him, I know to Him my life belongs.

Paper Balls for Snow

Paper, paper, paper, my cat loves paper. Any time she hears the sound of paper being scrunched, her ears perk up and she is in the attack mode.  I make a paper ball, throw it, and she is off running and rolling.  The cheapest toy ever. She carries it, bats it, and sits on it. That paper ball has become one of her best friends.

Today I was cutting out a pattern on the floor and she decides she wanted to get in the middle and have a sit, like that’s where she belonged. Silly cat.😼

My daughter had found this beautiful white kitten on the side of the house lost and in need of a home.

And of course she wanted to be the caretaker.  My husband said, he felt the Lord sent it for her, so we adopted her and she is now our house cat, named Snow.

So if your in need of a cheap toy for your cat, just make a paper ball and they will come running.

Trying Not To Meddle

Some days it’s really hard not to meddle, especially as a mom. I really have to pray for the good Lord to help me not to say anything when I (as in this flesh) really want to. I just go before the Lord in prayer for my children that he might speak to their hearts and give them wisdom to make the right decisions in their daily lives.

I am so very blessed with a wonderful family, and do my best not to meddle even though I’m sure I fail at times, but am working on it.

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Romans 8:28 KJV
